Why Yogis Roll Over Onto Their RIGHT Side
Most yoga sessions end with Savasana (literally "nappy time" in Sanskrit) when you just lie on your back and try not to snore. At the end, the instructor tells you to roll over onto your right side, mop up the drool, sit up and get the hell out because there's another class scratching at the door. Dorothy, the Queen of Serene, blogged about "why always the right side? Is it another right handers' subjugation of Lefties?" Turns out that, aside from some spiritual stuff that I skipped over, your heart is more to the left side of your body and it's easier on the ticker this way. I've petitioned for a defibrillator for the yoga studio. For more info you can read Dorothy's blog here.
