Culture is Cool!

My friend Jan 2000 (that's another story) had two extra tickets to yesterday's Seattle symphony matinee performance of Busoni's "Turandot". It was a "musically speaking" performance and the conductor, Gerard Schwarz, tells you the story and they play little bits of the score, tell more story, play more bits, etc. When he's told the whole story, they play the whole thing from start to finish. Turandot is a bloody, dramatic story, so he had me at "the executioner" and I stayed awake the whole time. Thanks, Jan 2000!
